Flat & Low-Slope Roofs in Las Vegas: TPO & PVC Explained

Flat and low-slope roofs — common on modern homes, additions, patios, and commercial buildings — need a continuous, watertight, reflective surface. Here are the systems that work in the desert.

TPO membrane

A bright-white, highly reflective single-ply membrane, heat-welded at the seams into a continuous watertight surface. Its reflectivity makes it an excellent cool roof — a strong, cost-effective workhorse for Las Vegas flat roofs.

PVC membrane

Similar reflectivity to TPO with superior chemical resistance and extremely strong welded seams — a premium choice for demanding flat-roof applications.

What we don't install: foam and torch-down

You'll come across two other flat-roof systems in Las Vegas: spray polyurethane foam (SPF) and torch-down (modified bitumen). Both exist in the market and both can work, but neither is a system we install. Foam depends on careful application and periodic recoating to keep performing, and torch-down is an older hot-applied method — we've chosen to concentrate on single-ply membrane, where our detailing and workmanship give the most reliable, warrantable result.

If you have an existing foam or torch-down roof that's failing, we can usually recover it with a TPO or PVC membrane system rather than chasing repairs on it.

The common thread: drainage

Whatever the surface, a flat roof lives or dies on drainage. We correct slope-to-drain and detail every penetration so monsoon water sheds instead of ponding.
